Consumer Review: Sauna Belts; Fact or Fiction?

Product Claims to:
Sweat away unwanted fat, eliminate cellulite, lose weight and ease muscle pain, all while sitting in the comfort of your own home. The Velform Sauna Belt focuses the sauna heat on the most problematic body parts to help flush out and eliminate toxins. This portable sauna belt is great for the abdomen, waist, back and hips. Just apply the Velform Sauna Belt around the chosen body part and let the belt do all the work. It will stay firmly in place with the secure velcro attachment. Velform sauna belt is an alternate way to help you lose weight. Sauna belt review is similar in a sense to a heating pad. You control the temperature setting. When the Sauna Belt is set to maximum the heat stimulates the blood flow around the area you place the sauna belt velform. This stimulation helps generate heat. The heat caused by the suana belt can assist you in sweating. Product includes: Flexible Velform Sauna Belt (one size fits all with secure fastening system), Multi-Level Remote Control, Instructional Guide, 7-Diet Plan, and a Tape measure.

SCAM
3/8/2006 - Michael of New York, USA writes:

As with most products bought from an infomercial this one is a scam as well. I used the product for 50 mins and did not sweat at all. The worst part is I measured my stomach before using the product just like the informercial said to do. They guaranteed that I would lose 2 inches from my stomach after just one use...the worst part is after I used it I did not lose a thing, I actually gained one inch. Also the informercial does not even show the people plugging the product into the wall, they actually have two people lying in a pool using it... how fake is that? Now I am trying to call the return this product and no one will answer this. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!! these people are fakes... and they should be ashamed of themselves! I wish I could give this product no stars!

I love it!
2 Mar 2006 - Ama of New York, USA writes:

I just purchased the sauna belt for only $13.00, and I love it. It really gets me sweating around my midsection. It has never burned me. This is just my second time using it, but i already have noticed that my pants are fitting a lot less sung. I measured myself the first time I used it and I am going to wait to measure again after a weeks use. I will keep you posted to let you know my progress.

Waste of Money 3/2/2006 - Alicia of New York, USA writes:

Do Not Waste Your Hard Earned Money. It was a heating pad that left burn marks. No Sweat Anywhere. I guess if it sounds to good to be true it usually is!!

BURNT N BROKE
1/28/2006 - Anonymous of Saskatchewan, Canada writes:

i was desperate to get something to work on my thighs. this product did nothing but bruise my stomach and buttocks. You do not sweat at all.

Waste of money! 1/28/2006 - Natasha of Florida, USA writes:

I was very disappointed with this product, the first time I used it, it was so hot it burned my skin. The next day I had burn spots on my stomach. I tried again on a lower level, and I didn't sweat at all, I even had it on for the whole 55 minutes. This is a scam, save your money.

This is a Scam beware 1/26/2006 - Jenna of California, USA writes:

This product is a fraud people they lie. I used it non-stop for two weeks and it does not work. This is a lie beware of the scam. It gave me no results and it smells like rubber. I even felt it as something harming to my body it smelled cheap and i felt disgusted putting it on. My skin was burned and it just felt wrong. A cheap heating pad would blow this stupid piece of rubber out of proportion. If you see the ifomertial you can clearly see its a rip why does the host leave then return with her body drenched. THe scam is that the return procedure takes forever and some friends that have already returned it never get their money back. If it’s too good to be true is this case it is. Work out or find another way to take care or your body and health I am disappointed at peoples lies.

Flash Back

Think back a few years. Simliar products surfaced boasting the ability to help you shed pounds and inches by wearing belts that claimed to make the abs work at all times using electric current

In May of 2002, the FTC charged three Top-selling Electronic Abdominal Exercise Belts with Making False Claims.

The three companies were AB Energizer , Abtronics, & Fast Abs. Remember these guys?

The FTC's complaints allege that the advertisements for the three ab devices falsely represent that:

1. the ab devices cause fat loss and inch loss;

2. the ab devices will give users well-defined abdominal muscles (e.g., "rock hard," "six pack" or "washboard" abs); and

3. use of the ab devices is equivalent to (and, for AbTronic and Fast Abs, superior to) conventional abdominal exercises, such as sit-ups or crunches.

Fast Abs settled for over 5 million dollars. the other two cases are still pending.

The FTC called this mass attack on these ab devices "ProjectAbsurd"
